Colin Powell married an American audiologist, Alma Johnson, on August 25, 1962.
The two met on a blind date when Alma tried to have a bad impression by wearing unflattering clothes and excessive makeup.
Obviously, Alma’s plan to make herself look unattractive failed, and the two were married for almost 60 years.
Colin and Alma have three children: a son named Michael, who became the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission; a daughter named Linda, who was an actress; and another daughter named Annemarie.
Colin Powell’s Death
On October 18, 2021, Colin passed away at 84 years old after years of fighting against various medical conditions. He was being treated for multiple myeloma and early-stage Parkinson’s disease.
At the point of his death, he had been vaccinated, but cancer compromised his immune system, which caused him to succumb to the illness and Covid-19 eventually.
